“What’s-new-and-what’s-hot-weekend” turned out to be “hits-and-misses-weekend” (or should i say, mostly “misses”). It’s true that not everyday is our best day but each day is definitely teaching us something.
Like when I planned for a random visit to one of newest hotels in town and it turned out to be closed to public yet – that even photography outside the premises isn’t allowed? Then maybe I just have to wait ’til it open.
Another one is when I checked out our subject’s facebook page which says they’re opening on March 17, but when I reached the site, I felt that an opening looks impossible anytime soon? Being a first-on-the-scene type of person that I am, my feet can get very itchy to take a first glimpse of this new entertainment park to hit Qatar. But maybe the hype was more than what it could contain and there are still a lot of things that they have to consider to make a smooth-sailing operation, like the looming concerns on parking and traffic situation in the area.
The truth is, our life isnt always picture-perfect just like our photos aren’t always “instagram-worthy”. There are images that we felt are not worth to share so we’d rather keep or discard it. It’s the same with those days we felt everything isn’t working according to our plans.
But at times, sharing even the bad ones actually could help other people… when we come to think about it.
When Things Go Wrong
I wish to share three reasons: lack of planning, its a test of your heart and attitude, or simply, God has prepared a better plan for us.
The first is about how we should act. We couldn’t just go with whatever comes to our mind. While a random act can give us thrill and excitement, sometimes it doesn’t give us the result we really wanted.
“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? -Luke 14:28
The second is about how we should feel. Life gives us series of lessons that we have to learn and to test that, God allowed trials to happen. Let’s guard our hearts not to loose the passion and determination. Let’s consider it as a challenge to be always be a better version of our old selves.
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. – Proverbs 4:23
The third is about how we will think. Our faith dictates how we view things. It will transform our minds to knowing what God’s will is in our life – His good, pleasing and perfect will.
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. – Hebrews 10:36
