They said that one of the best ways to know a country’s culture is through their food. And as we embark on our new journey this 2018, it is our desire to expose ourselves not only to different places but also to a variety of cuisines.
As part of our new blog direction #BLQWEEKENDS, we are planning to put up more food related blog posts every Saturday with the theme: SAVOURday. Last time, we introduced TOURSday for our travel themed posts every Thursday.
And during the weekend, we visited a newly opened Indian Restaurant in Medina Centrale (beside Megapolis) upon the idea given by my blogger friends almost two months ago (special shoutout to @stunningleng and @habiba_susana).
JWALA RESTAURANT is not just your typical food place where you have a nice ambiance, a great food, and a good service. It is not only the food that will give you a glimpse of India’s culture… but the entire setup and interior design will give the customers an experience of their colorful lifestyle.
The price, the serving and the taste are all surprisingly very cool. Thanks to the very helpful assistance of their waiting staff who before hand was already made aware of my certain limitations. And with that, what came out was perfect food that’s just right for our taste.
Going back to the restaurant interiors, every corner has something to tell. There’s your neighborhood store (much like our sari-sari stores in the Philippines), the posters on the walls, the typical street scenes… and oh, don’t forget to go out using their backdoor (leading to the Megapolis for those who will be using the restrooms afterwards)… there are real tribikes on display much like the “tricyle” in the Philippines, which is also similar to the “tuktuk” of Thailand.
As we start to roll down our theme every Saturday (SAVOURday), I can say we were successful in our first gastronomic journey this year. Armed with less expectations… but we were served with very appetizing food and a colorful display of Indian culture and lifestyle.
