Time Rako Hotel: A Gift of Time (An International Women’s Day Special)

Imagine this, we wake up in the morning and do our regular routines before going to office. We work for eight hours (others even up to 12) and barely even had a chance to call home. Then we get off from work, some even pass by coffee shops or restaurants for a quick bite. I don’t know if we even have time to watch the news or get to check our kid’s assignments before going to bed again. Depends on how late we go, we hardly could get an 8-hour sleep ‘til we wake up the following day.

Little did we know, we are trapped in this cycle… even a popular line says we are so busy making a living we forget to get a life. And that is true. How many movies and videos have we watched reminding us to spend time with our love ones before we regret it?

Nowadays, there are more and more staycation options where we can get the BEST out of our LIFE here in QATAR. Amidst the blockade, we can see a thriving hospitality industry that also seeks to provide hotel accommodation to the middle market. And so, there are now several hotels offering affordable yet elegant atmosphere ideal for family relaxation or getaway with friends.

One of them is TIME RAKO HOTEL located in Wakrah, only about 15 minutes from Toyota Signal right at the left side of Ooredoo Roundabout in Wakrah area (if you are going to Mesaieed – make a u turn to the next roundabout to go back to the hotel).

The hotel formally opened to public in February 16, 2018 but has been receiving guests and events since January 2018. In our observation, this is probably the only full-scale hotel available in Wakrah area for now.

Indeed, creating a good first impression is very important. And the lobby of Time Rako Hotel did not disappoint me… it actually surprised me to see a high ceiling lobby, the hues of green, brown and white is refreshing to the eyes, and overall feel is relaxing.

The Japanese word raku, pronounced “rah-koo”, is a commonly-used word that means comfort, ease, or relief.

Time Rako Hotel is a seven storey, four-star property offers 102 rooms and suites, three of which are equipped for disabled guests. Large windows provide plenty of natural light in both the suites and rooms. Elegant furnishings and premium quality beds are a few of the features that make short-stays or long-stays comfortable and enjoyable.

The room size is cozy and the basic bathroom leave much to be desired. But overall, the room still delivers whatever you need for comfortable stay.

Four venues offer a wide choice of cuisine and location options. The all-day dining restaurant – MEDZO has a capacity of 98 covers presents a deli concept which provides buffet breakfast and à la carte menu.

As a speciality option, the SRAIDAN seafood restaurant has a total of 80 seating capacity for its indoor dining area and outdoor terrace. It also includes an open-style kitchen, a signature wood-burning oven and a fresh fish display.

BREEZE located on the ground floor is a hub for central meeting and socializing point with a selection of hot beverage, cold refreshing drinks and Oriental casual snacks. Soon, their rooftop lounge bar – WAVES, with a large outdoor terrace and seating over 80 guests will also open.

Since they are still on initial operation, some entries on the menu are not available and even the servings on the breakfast have just enough options to fill in a light meal.

The temperature-controlled pool lined with several loungers and outdoor bed with canopy are located at the hotel rooftop. It will also give a 360 view of Al Wakra city in the South or sea view in the East.

The Powerzone Fitness Center is open for all hotel guests and also accepts membership whole year round. Time Rako Hotel also has a spa that offers a range of relaxation therapy both for hotel guests or walk-in clients.

Three multipurpose rooms which are spacious and well-equipped, provide an efficient and comfortable environment for various types of events. The banqueting facility is able to host any event up to 450 guests, making it an ideal venue for large gatherings such as weddings. An experienced Conference & Event team are always on hand to ensure a stress-free and successful event.
