DaddyCorner: 9 ways on how your kids will enjoy the QIFF Season 9

QATAR’s premier food festival is now on its 9th Seasons this year and they are finally open to the public occupying a much bigger space and featuring more shops at the Hotel Park near Sheraton Hotel. I can say it’s really a foodie paradise with so many options to choose from.

As a #daddyblogger, one of my major considerations when going out to an event like this is to ensure that my daughter will not get bored… while i do my stuff. Good thing, there are lots of attractions that #QIFF2018 has in-store for kids this year.

Here are some of things all parents shouldn’t miss when visiting the Qatar International Food Festival.

1. MINI ZOO

This is a new feature attraction this year. This mini zoo will give kids, who are more acquianted with gadget and toys, an opportunity to appreciate and see real animals.

Hope they will bring in more kinds and varieties in the future. But this is a good start.

2. FARMERS MARKET

It’s like integrating the existing Torba Market in Qatar Foundation at the Qatar International Food Festival. Fitting enough to make everyone aware, including the kids, of the country’s efforts in improving the industry of organic farming as well as introducing the “farm to table” concept of fresh, all natural, food production.

3. TOYS AND BALLOONS

Surprisingly, there’s already an organized and uniformed staff who are selling kiddie stuffs around the festival area. It added to the festive mood with neon lighted balloons and other kiddie toys on sale.

4. KIDDIE GAMES

Some are organized by participating booths like the one below by Tarsheed in order to further educate the kids on the importance of saving water and electricity.

There are also play and activity areas for kids organized by Qsports.

5. ARTS AND CRAFTS

Although it is located at the rear end of the festival area and one that’s easy to miss, it is actually a nice place for kids to try their hands on some arts and crafts.

5. KIDDIE FOOD

Most of the stalls are offering small portion of food as well as a variety of sweets items that children will surely love. This is also a chance to try hotel-quality food at very affordable prices.

6. LIVE ENTERTAINMENT and OPEN AIR THEATER

After a full day of playing and eating, there are two areas where families can watch live performances (music and dance) and several live cooking shows and film showing for the kids.

Gladly, Hotel Park have built-in features that visitors can also enjoy.

7. THE FOUNTAIN AREA

8. THE PLAY GROUND

9. THE GREEN GRASSY HILLS

True enough, the Qatar International Food Festival is not only for grown-ups but also for kids, making it truly a family-oriented event that everyone will truly love!

Come and visit the 9th QATAR INTERNATIONAL FOOD FESTIVAL happening at the Hotel Park from March 15-25 (4pm onwards). Admission is FREE.
