Giro D’italia: Warwick Doha’s Culinary Tour

Early this year, Warwick Doha has warmly announced the appointment of Andrea Guidi as the new Italian Chef de Cuisine of the Italian Restaurant, Carisma. In his position, Chef Andrea Guidi will be at the helm of the Italian culinary and stewarding team for the restaurant and supporting operation in other food and beverage outlets, banqueting and outdoor catering.


Chef Andrea, an Italian national, has over 7 years of culinary and pastry experience working in fine dining restaurants in 4 and 5 star hotels in Italy, France and US. Chef Andrea also carries the experience of working in three different 1 and 2 star Michelin restaurants: “La Credenza” Restaurant in Torino (1-star), Les Bacchanales Restaurant in France (1-star) and Devero Restaurant in Milano (2-star). In Miami USA, managing Wine & Tigella Restaurant which specializes seafood and pasta; and Albergo della Roccia Hotel in Parma as Executive Pastry Chef.

And to officially kickoff Chef Andrea’s new assignment, bloggers and print media people were invited to try his culinary skills while introducing the highlights of different Italian provinces via a series inspired by Giro D’italia, an annual multiple-stage bicycle race primarily held in Italy which occasionally pass through nearby countries.


Carisma Restaurant’s Giro D’Italia Promotions will feature the real touch of original recipes (usually a 3-course menu) served during dinner time and priced at QR90 per person. The mission of this culinary journey is to show that the Italian food is not only pizza and pasta and to present the history of each featured regions and cities.

February – Trentino

It was on the 26th of February 2018 when Chef Andrea was first introduced to the media via his first set-menu inspired from the province of Trentino, Italy.

Middle Course – Ravioli Ai Funghi Al Prezzemolo
Mushroom ravioli with parsley
Lemon Sorbet
Filetto di Vitello con Spinacini e Mele Verde

Tonno alla Mugnaia 
Tuna with cherry tomatoes, capers and green apples
Banana chocolate paste flavored with hazel nut
Coconut Panna Cotta with Lemon curd and Mango


March – Tuscany

On the 28th of March, 2018 we were once again invited to experience a special menu from Tuscany – Italy.

Papa Al Pomodoro 
Homemade bread soaked in tomato, oregano sauce with extra virgin olive oil



Bistecca Alla Cacciatora 
Beef rib eye with tomato sauce and porcini mushroom

April – Umbria

The third installment came on 18th of April for us to experience a special menu from UmbriaPerugia – Italy.


The menu include the following items:

Soup: Minestra Di Farro Pomodoro
Soup with beef and pecorino cheese
Mushroom Risotto
Mango Sorbet
Main Course: Pollo Alla Cacciatora
Chicken Cooked old hunter style with capers and sautéed potatoes
Desserts: Brustengolo
Corn flour cage

A Culinary Journey with Chef Andrea 

It is Chef Andrea’s first time to work in Middle East and he is enthusiastic of his role at hotel Warwick Doha, and glad to work hand in hand with the culinary and food & beverage teams of Carisma to deliver the best Italian cuisine.
