As dessert lovers, sweet tooth, and chocoholics ever since… this is always a part of the meal or the section in the buffet that we’re most excited about. If it’s cheese for some… or seafood for others… then we’ll take all the chocolates with us and go!
So an invitation from Alison Nelson’s Chocolate Bar Qatar came in and it was one that’s easy to decide. T’was an immediate, and unanimous YES!
Alison Nelson Chocolate Bar
You can never have enough candy! When Alison Nelson launched the Chocolate Bar concept in New York, her goal was to create a candy store for grown-ups and children alike. A place with uptown sophistication and downtown soul offering chocolate inspired sweets, desserts, candy and dishes. As one of the trendiest coffee shops in the world, Chocolate Bar is a highly innovative brand that merges chocolate with the high-end fashion and style. Known for blending modern design with retro art deco, Chocolate Bar stores offer a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The delicious treats created by the Manhattan-based store, which also draws many celebrities, including Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow and Leonardo Di Caprio, are inspired by a range of natural or organic ingredients including almonds, caramel, popcorn, toffee, banana, marshmallows and cherries among others.(to check the operating hours, location, and contact info)
Alison Nelson’s Chocolate Bar by HDC-GLOBAL
Hospitality Development Company (HDC) is the hospitality subsidiary wholly owned by UDC which brought several established international franchises – from places such as Paris, New York and Beirut – initially to The Pearl-Qatar (which is UDC’s flagship project) – and now to major malls in the country. Through the years, HDC had formed alliances with a number of reputed brands such as MEGU, Burj Al Hamam, Arabesque, Isla, Urban Jazz, Wafflemeister, and Alison Nelson’s Chocolate Bar.
The first store of Alison Nelson’s Chocolate Bar in Doha is located at The Pearl-Qatar. Afterwards, HDC opened a second branch at the Mall of Qatar and during the latter part of 2017, the third outlet was opened at Doha Festival City.
BUT, who is Alison Nelson?
She is a New Jersey-based entrepreneur and wife of actor Adam Nelson. She founded Chocolate Bar in 2002 which has grown to over 20 locations across the globe including Dubai, Australia, and Qatar. From a blog called Naomi DSouza (aka N), it was mentioned that Alison Nelson was named one of Gourmet News influential “20 Under 40” in 2014 & in 2007 she received the Inc. Magazine‘s award for one of the “Fastest Growing Private Company’s in America”.

Alison Nelson’s Chocolate Bar in Mall of Qatar
Located along the retail strips right in the middle of Alrayyan Hotel-Exit South Gate 1 and the Food Court area is Alison Nelson’s Chocolate Bar in Mall of Qatar. It is really a perfect place to rest and have your dessert fix or light snacks while in the middle of a shopping spree. This is also a nice area away from the very busy and at times, crowded food court and the oasis stage.
The store interior is very classy with comfortable chairs and even leather sofas to lounge in. The dominant orange, cream, and dark brown hues are signature colors of the brand and it was very consistent althroughout the store.
Their menu offers a wide variety of creative choices and, of course, The Chocolate Bar signature items. During our visit, they chose to serve us some of their latest addition – which also shows variety in their menu. Although still, the most sought after are really those sweet chocolates that they are known for, you can simply ask any of their waiting staff and they will gladly show you the different options.
