SPECIAL SERIES: 19 Best Parks in Doha

To help you plan ahead for your outdoor events or weekend activities as an alternative to shopping malls, here are some of the outdoor parks that you could consider. If you feel like jogging, strolling around or having a family picnic, there’s a lot of public parks available around Doha and its peripherals alone. And that’s perfect for that cozy family bonding for kids to explore vast open spaces.

They are located in different parts of the city and thankfully, this is one of the government’s main priority projects aside from the regular roads, drainages and other infrastructure projects. Qatar’s commitment to a healthy environment and encouraging sports and exercise amongst its people are some of the obvious reasons for the proliferation of these beautiful parks.

There are even smaller parks around many communities and all of these have been established by the Public Gardens Department of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) featuring ample green areas, bike tracks, passageways, kids play area and safe rubber surface. These parks are equipped with spacious playgrounds and offer WiFi connectivity too. Similar other parks are also available in other Municipalities of Qatar.

What activities do you usually do in the park? Please share some bonding activities that others might also consider the next time they hop on those green scapes.
