Nothing brings people together than good food. And that is exactly true especially in Qatar. Some of the community activities that will show a large gathering of locals and expats, aside from sports, always have something to do with food. From hotel ballrooms, parking areas, to outdoor parks… most of these food events are happening during the cooler season.

This was probably the inspiration behind GOURMET DISTRICT. Dubbed as “Qatar’s First Indoor Food Park” located on the ground floor of UDC Tower in The Pearl Qatar. Notice that twin tower right when you enter The Pearl? Turn right at the tower on your right and several directional signs will lead you to Gourmet District.
It is an indoor food park with 12 dining concepts inside it. They have 5 main food outlets and 7 coffee kiosks around the beautifully decorated food hall. It also has a great view of the Diplomatic area, Katara and Westbay area.
I love how they recreated a village-like ambiance, with each house serving as a restaurant counter where you can order food which will then be brought to your table by their waiting staff. There are also several kiosks serving a variety of hot and cold beverages, and an assortment of delectable desserts.
With controlled temperature, this indoor food park is ideal all year long. Gourmet District is open daily from 9:00am to 11:30pm, Fridays from 2:00pm to 11:30pm. Follow them on Instagram: @gourmetdistrict.qa.
