Last year, over 500 participants joined the charity bike ride and raised more than QAR 40,000 to fund education of children worldwide.
After its huge success in 2018, Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel is proud to be hosting the biggest charity cycling event ‘Ride for Education’ through Road to Awareness initiative again this year.
Ride for Education is organized by Qatar Marriott Worldwide Business Council (QMWBC)*, a committee represented by the Marriott hotels in Doha. Ali Bin Tawar, Qatari cyclist and founder of Carbon Wheels, and Marriott International COO in the Middle East, Guido de Wilde, will be leading the ride. The funds raised during the ride will benefit Education Above All (EAA) Foundation to support its Educate Somali Children project, targeting 109,372 children in Somalia.
The charity bike will be held on Friday, 29th November 2019, kicking off at 7:00 a.m. at Sheraton Grand Doha. The ride will have two routes: 40 km for professionals and 20 km for beginner riders. Tickets are available at Sheraton Fitness reception desk and online at bit.ly/RideForEducationQatar.
