From North of Qatar in Al Khor down to the Southern part in Al Wakrah area, we proceed to our next featured stadium – AL JANOUB STADIUM. This stadium has been made ready long before the FIFA WORLD CUP in 2022 to host regional tournaments like the Amir Cup in 2019 which provided a taste of the experience fans will enjoy at this FIFA World Cup™ venue. Its also played host to the semi-finals of the 24th edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup in December 2019 when Qatar took on Saudi Arabia. It’s not just visitors from overseas who can enjoy this wonderful venue. A school; wedding hall; cycling, horse riding and running tracks; restaurants; marketplaces; gyms; and parkland are just some of the new amenities that are being developed to accompany Al Janoub Stadium. Residents will see great long-term benefits from the project, which will bring their tightly knit community even closer together.

After the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, Al Janoub Stadium will become a new home for sport and entertainment in southern Qatar. Its capacity will be reduced to 20,000, guaranteeing an electric atmosphere. The other 20,000 seats will be donated to football development projects overseas, once again demonstrating Al Wakrah’s innovative nature and ability to connect with far-off lands.
