Recently we saw members of the community actively visiting museums in Qatar. That’s a good sign that people are having more interest in arts and culture. This is especially helpful for those with little children, museums are another another venue to learn aside from school, interact with different kinds of exhibits, and develop their appreciation for arts at an early age.
Here are the different museums and galleries under Qatar Museums – the country’s preeminent institution for art and culture dedicated to providing authentic cultural experiences through an expanding network of museums, heritage sites, festivals, public art, and programming.

3-2-1 QATAR AND SPORTS MUSEUM
Opening on March 31, 2022, it will be the world’s most sophisticated museum dedicated to sport. Plan your visit to enjoy interactive exhibits, inspiring stories, and fun activities that celebrate sports culture within Qatar and beyond.

AL RIWAQ MUSEUM

FIRE STATION MUSEUM
Fire Station is a contemporary art space committed to supporting artists through its artist in residence program as well as engaging the local communities in Qatar by providing opportunities and events, which include exhibitions and public programs.
Built in 1982, the Fire Station was previously the home of the first civil defense authority in Qatar, until late 2012. Repurposed in 2014 to host the Fire Station: Artist in Residence, Ibrahim Al-Jaida, the architect leading the project, has preserved the original details of the building and its tower. Founded in 2010, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, is situated in Education City in Qatar Foundation (QF), in a renovated former school building. Mathaf organizes major exhibitions, both historical and experimental, and large-scale education programs performing an important role as a center for dialogue, research, and a resource for fostering creativity. MUSEUM OF ISLAMIC ARTS
The iconic Museum of Islamic Art (MIA), which opened in 2008, is currently undergoing an ambitious reimagining of its interior galleries and spaces. In the fall of 2021, the world-renowned Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) embarked upon an exciting one-year project to update and upgrade its galleries. The spectacular waterfront museum will reopen in late 2022 with a new visitor-focused layout that will accommodate a larger audience and attract more tourists to Qatar.
