The beautiful Le Meridien City Center, Doha located in Westbay area, is the official hotel of the South Korea National Football Team during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, as seen in the photos released by The Korea Football Association (KFA) on their official Instagram account.
The hotel entrance with a big KOREA sign and hallways adorned with posters of the history of their past games greeted the players on the way to their rooms.
Each door has the player’s name on it, a large photo frame placed on the headboard wall, and a welcome kit on top of each bed. Super personalized!
According to a report from Korea Times: The KFA said it had only decorated players’ rooms at previous World Cups but decided to rework other parts of the team hotel this time “to instill confidence in the players and get them fired up for the World Cup.” So we could presume that the decoration initiative came from the side of the South Korea management.
Amidst the strict security measures implemented in all FIFA venues, training areas, and hotels, we are happy that some teams, including the South Korea team, are very generous in giving us behind-the-scenes and sneak peeks at what’s happening during their preparations and hopefully during the matches a well.
As of the moment, 18 out of 26 players arrived in Doha early Monday, to be joined by eight players flying in from across Europe over the next few days including their captain, Son Heung-min of Tottenham Hotspur (England).
