OFFICIAL STATEMENT REGARDING THE POSTPONEMENT OF THE 5TH BEST LIFE QATAR READERS CHOICE IN JANUARY 2024
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the postponement of the Annual Best Life Qatar Readers Choice for 2024. It is due to various reasons that we decided to forgo with this event next year or until further notice.
As many of you do not know, this is a private and personal project of the Founder of Best Life Qatar with the sole purpose of providing a stage for registered Filipino Entrepreneurs and their businesses to be recognized and honored by their esteemed customers and loyal patrons. We’ve seen how the Filipino business have somehow curved a space with our International readers. And that’s what we’ve been working tirelessly for the past four years, to be able to introduce not only Filipino cuisines but also the many Filipino businesses in Qatar to our non-Filipino audience at Best Life Qatar blog and social media channels.
However, we noticed that it’s getting more difficult to get the support of the community, even the stakeholders and beneficiaries of the program itself. And since we don’t want to let any misinterpretations run wild on social media, we decided to issue this statement from ourselves.
The expenses in hosting this event, including the videos and photos that we have to outsource plus the time spent on running after each and every individual business owners has now proven to be too much for us to carry as compared to the little moral support (and respect) we expect in return. And we’ve not asked any of the nominees anything in return for this project… yet the demand has grown as if it was an obligation (or even a favor for us).
We wish all the Filipino businesses well in this challenging times in the industry. Our commitment in supporting “anything Filipino” here in Qatar remain and it will be our undying advocacy – may it be in our social media content or in our current business venture – while we are still here in this land.
Thank you to everyone who supported us until today. Thank you to our sponsors who believed in us in this project. Sorry that we are putting a halt to this… praying we can do this again.
We hope that everyone will continue to support groups and individuals who are doing their best to uplift the image of our community… no matter how small it is.
